Let The Hat Choose You

Browse freely, and let your heart and body guide you. If a hat feels like it’s calling to you—whether it’s the colors, the shape, or just an unexplainable pull—trust that feeling. That’s the one meant for you.

The Difference in Brims: Folded Edge vs. Frayed Edge

📐 Sizing & Fit

One Size Fits Most (Hopefully Each of You!)

Every Actually Just a Hat piece is designed as a one-size-fits-most style. The average brim measures approximately 24 inches in circumference, but because each hat is handmade from recycled materials, the fit may vary slightly from piece to piece.

These subtle variations are intentional and part of the one-of-one nature of the design. Some hats may feel a touch more snug or a touch looser depending on the fabric stretch and weight.

Fit Note: If you’re between sizes or sensitive to tightness, I recommend choosing a hat made from softer/stretchier fabrics (noted in the product description).

🧼 Wash & Care Instructions

For the longevity of your hat, please treat it with gentle care. Handwashing is always the safest option.

🌿 General Care (All Hats)

  • Washing: Hand wash gently in cool water with mild detergent. Avoid harsh scrubbing or wringing.
  • Drying: Reshape and lay flat or line-dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry — high heat can shrink or warp the brim.
  • Bleaching: Do not use chlorine bleach. If needed, only use oxygen-based (non-chlorine) bleach.
  • Ironing: Use a cool to medium setting. Always place a cloth between the iron and the hat to prevent shine or burns.
  • Dry Cleaning: Not recommended, as recycled fabrics may react unpredictably to solvents.
  • Warnings: Do not soak for long periods. Do not twist or wring. Avoid direct prolonged sunlight while drying to preserve color.

🧵 Cotton (T-shirt cotton scraps)

  • Wash: Hand wash in cool water; machine wash on delicate if necessary.
  • Dry: Line dry or flat dry. Do not tumble dry.
  • Iron: Medium heat if needed.

🌱 Linen

  • Wash: Hand wash in lukewarm water.
  • Dry: Line dry; linen can become stiff if tumble-dried.
  • Iron: Medium-high steam iron while still slightly damp, using a pressing cloth.

✨ Silk

  • Wash: Hand wash gently in cold water with silk-safe detergent. Do not wring.
  • Dry: Lay flat on a towel and roll gently to remove water, then reshape and flat dry. Never tumble dry.
  • Iron: Use lowest heat, silk setting only, with a pressing cloth. Iron inside out if possible.
